Corduroy, who was pronounced as the world’s oldest living feline by Guinness World Records, is feared to have passed away after the 27-year-old kitty went missing from his house in the United Stated.

The feline ran away from his home in Oregon in early October and no one seen him since then.

Corduroy was living with this kind couple Ashley Reed Okura and her 37-year-old husband Aaron Masusru Okura, who owns a bar.

Owner revealed the truth with heavy heart

“With tears in my eyes, I have to announce that Corduroy has most likely passed away,” owner Reed Okura wrote in an official Instagram post.

“We miss him so much and I keep believing that he will return home… But, unfortunately, Corduroy won’t come home. I thank everyone for the great support and love Corduroy has received — he was a remarkable  cat. I am very happy that we had an amazing and incredible, 27 years together,” Reed Okura wrote.

She adopt this amazing cat form a shelter when the kitty was 6 weeks old.

After Scooter

Corduroy won the Guinness world Record for the oldest feline after 30-year-old Scooter passed over the bridge earlier this year in Texas.

Corduroy in fact was pronounced the world’s oldest feline before Scooter’s existence was known.

According to Guinness Book Of records, Corduroy was born on August 1, 1989. The kind family was caring for Corduroy since he was a little kitten and when Ashley was 7 years old.

He had his own Instagram page

On his Instagram page he had more than 18,000 followers. His owner revealed the secret last year for the Corduroy long life .

Reed Okura revealed the secret to her cat`s long life was spending time outside the house — even though she had begun supervising him on walks because of coyotes and eagles.

“I think letting him running across the back yard has kept him full with energy,” Ashley said.

She believed he knew he was special because he was well cared from family and friends, and was patient with little kids.
