If no one walked by, this cute white and black feline would surely still be brutally chained up all alone in the forest outside of Spring, Texas … or even worse.
Janet Zimmerman, a volunteer at the local animal rescue center, was in the woods looking for a lost dog when she heard a desperate cat crying.
“She followed the meowing to some small trees and shrubs and was terrified by what she found,” Copper’s Cat Commune, a local cat-rescue group posted on their Facebook. “In the middle of some shrubs was a white and black cat … CHAINED TO A TREE.”
The 1-year-old feline was chained up, with a padlock around his tiny neck. “This was surely intentional,” Zimmermann told local news ABC13. “Some evil man did this to the cat. I was really stunned and shocked.”
Zimmerman saved him immediately on the spot. Luckily, the cat now called Forrest , was unhurt by the experience — both emotionally and physically. “He is super cute and friendly,” the cat rescue posted on its Facebook page.
Forest is currently at animal clinic while volunteers from Copper’s Cat Commune try to find him permanent home and family. He is so sweet and friendly with everyone who comes to visit him.
Luckily, several families contact the center to adopt the cat. We hope the best for this brave cat. He really deserves that.
Plus, the missing dog was found 🙂
