Do you remember Duckie? She found a forever home…and just  look her now. Baltimore Animal and Rescue Care Shelter, Inc., (BARCS) shared a picture of the kitty with her new mommy, Emily.

Duckie was healing for several months at BARCS, after some people found her with two ears burned off. In that moment she was only one month old.

The shelter says that only support and love allowed them to pay Duckie’s medical costs, but also the costs of many more cats and dogs.

The harmed kitty was noticed in the Belair-Edison district, on Pelham Avenue close to Woodstock Avenue, in August.

A human called Baltimore City Animal Control after noticing the tiny fur ball “almost lifeless” on a windowsill outside her house.

According to BARCS; ” It was obvious that Duckie’s wounds were from fire. Her little ‘bean’ pads on her feet were deep red and very painful, her ears were burned from the tips down; her whiskers are singed, spiky and short. Luckily, there was a little burning on other parts of her tiny body, which lead our vets to think that this was purposeful and done by some evil person with intent to kill the kitty.

Luckily, this story has a happy ending. This kitten will live her life peacefully in her new permanent home. Plus, she has a kind and nice human to care for her.
