Maria Delk and her husband kept hearing a continuous meowing. Finally, her husband went outside to check the strange noise.”
On the sidewalk across the street, he found alone helpless kitten. Her husband took her inside the house. “At first they thought the kitty was dying. “It looked like her eye was gone.” They named her Grace.
They immediately brought the kitten to the vets. After that she was very happy in Delk’s house. But, that`s not the end of the story. The cats kept coming and coming. “I’m not a real cat person,” Delk says.
The same unusual situation keeps happening. Again. And again. Almost every cat had some health issues. For example Bailey, came up with an infected mouth.
They had to take the kitten to the vets immediately. She had seven cats inside the home. But lately, Grace the kitty’s siblings needed care. Outside there are even more cats.
“There are about 15 different cats that visiting us,” Delk says. She is trying not to get too connected with the cats. Sometimes, she had to wake up at four in the morning to get the outside and fed the cats.
“I’m not a cat person,” she says. “But now I am.”
“I’m not a saver,” Delk insists. “They just continue coming to my home door.”
