Dogs, cats and all other animals living in the Italian town of Collecchio will be less stressful during city-wide celebrations because the local government decided that only silent fireworks will be used out of respect for the animals.

More pets are stressed, frightened, lost and frightened during celebrations and special events in which fireworks are used more than any other time of the year. When frightened by a large number of explosions, bangs and pops, cats often bolt, running desperately to escape the blasts. Every year, hundreds of pets never return back home again.

That is the main reason why the town of Collecchio in Italy’s Parma province have passed new legislation that forces inhabitants to use only silent fireworks as a way to lower the trauma and fear dogs, cats, and all other animals experience during the celebratory events.

One Italian well-known company, Setti Fireworks, has already developed a quieter version of the shining displays and amazing light shows, without the following explosive sounds that send pets and wildlife into a panic. Additionally, fireworks companies in the U.S. also have been developing silent fireworks displays in anticipation of the trend toward respecting wildlife and animals expanding worldwide.

Would you support a quiet fireworks mandate in your own city or town?
