Dying Poor Cat Found Malnourished and Covered in Paint on Highway
The 15-year-old feline called Mitsi was found heavily harmed and skinny on a Road in Inverness after was missing from her home.
Mitsi was immediately brought to the vets after she was noticed by council employee in the city’s Carnac Crescent on Thursday.
Inverness Cat Rescue took the cat and tried to care and feed her but the kitty had to be put down. The Scottish SPCA have now opened an inspection for the unpleasant incident.
Animal rescue staff announced that she was in a terrible condition and they first thought that she was hit by a speeding vehicle and her human was “heartbroken and very sad”
A report on Inverness Cat Rescue’s Facebook page said: “It was first thought that the feline was involved in car accident. When we came on the scene we realized that she was barely alive.
“She seemed to be a very old starving feline, and we wrapped her in a soft blanket and brought her immediately to our vet.
” After better check they realized that the kitty was not so old, probably middle-aged. She had no visible wounds consistent with being hit by a vehicle.
“Her little paws were dirty with dried on mud, her coat was covered in burrs, she was extremely skinny and was starving.
“But the most terrible fact was that , almost all her body was covered in white paint, which had dried and hardened.
“Her owner confirmed that this was Mitzi, and her remains were taken home. We are very anxious to point out that Mitsi came from a very kind and caring home, and that her human is totally heartbroken of what has happened to her cat.
“The details of this horrible case have been passed on to the police.”
