Residents Of Elderly Care Center Caring For Orphaned Kitties
Elderly care center works with animal shelter . Benefits are amazing both for orphaned kitties and elders
The animal shelter in Arizona required desperate extra help for taking care of the newborn kitties. So they were thinking and found a surprising decision and contact to a senior care center for help. When they came up with this incredible idea, some were shocked.
” Residents who needed care for themselves also, to take care of newborn kitties” says Catalina Springs Memory Care Executive Director Sharon Mercer. “However there are needs, emotions and skills that do not just leave a person with Dementia or Alzheimer’s. It turns out their desire to give love and emotions was very strong.”
They realized that taking care of felines was giving the elders a lot of happiness and pleasure.
This ended to be a success, because the benefit was for both elders and kittens. The elder residents were asked to take care of two newborn kittens, Peaches and Turtle, and the kitties have increased their weight almost double.
The residents of the elder care center ”The little kitties gave us all the lucky chance to nurture this normal human condition that we all have,” says Mercer. The happiness that the elderly people get from the cuddling , feeding and taking care for the little kittens is enormous – and the little fluff buddies feel thankful too.
This idea was one of the best with great benefits for both sides. We should care for the elderly people and in same time for the little kittens. When both of this idea were combined together, we got amazing results.
Nobody believed that it could turn out into incredible success. This should be common practice all around the world. The world could be and should be a better place for living. We can do that!
