When war arrived in Syria, people rushed for their lives. They were running from the bombs. So many dead and ruined homes. In that rush they left their pets on their own. But, pets cannot care for themselves on the dangerous streets of the destroyed homes.
Only one small number of people took the cats with them. But, one man decided to change the things. Mohammad Alaa Aljaleel is the our hero. He strongly decided to stay in his ruined city Aleppo, Syria and care for the abandoned pets.
Before the war he worked as electrician. But, when civil war came he began driving the ambulance car to save people`s lives.
In the same time he also runs a cat sanctuary. In the beginning of 2011 he cared for 20 cats. But, next year that number increased to over 100. He said that people who left the country let their cats to him, because they knew that he loves kitties.
Every abandoned cat or stray cat in Aleppo are protected in his sanctuary.
The Cat Man Of Aleppo described one touching moment: I still remember the little girl, who left her cat to my center. Her parents decided to leave the country and couldn`t take the cat with them. She cried a lot ,because she really loves her cat. She said to send her photos of her cats until they return back. This kind man did that. He sends photos of this cat to the girl. In this moment they are in Turkey. Who knows when they will return in their homeland..
This Man deserves a medal. Even though all his friends left the country he stayed in the combat area to protect the helpless kitties. He is planning to open a cat hospital when the war will end.
