A tiny bobcat lost his own mom but was saved by stray cat mom. She cared and loved for the little baby bobcat as her own.
Meet Bob the bobcat (only a several days old) and Sweet Pea the mom cat.
A kind Samaritan arrived to the Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation on May 3rd looking for help. She brought a box with a little kitties inside, but it wasn’t just any typical kitties. It was a wild cat, a bobcat. “He was found as an orphan,” Erica Chacon of Sarge’s told Love Meow.
The woman who found the bobcat had seen a mom bobcat near her house on the rainy night before, but the following day the baby bobcat was somehow left behind.
Unable to reunite the tiny wild kitty with his bobcat mama, she rescued him and brought him to the shelter. The baby bobcat was only a several days old. Having a nursing mama was crucial for his survival. On the same day, they saved a stray mama along with her five little kitties. They knew the only hope he had, was to introduce them. The time was perfect!
What happened next is heartwarming.
Within 10 minutes after they introduced the tiny bobcat to his new mama, Sweet Pea, he started to nurse. It was then they knew he was going to be all perfect.
It took Bob a bit longer to wean than Sweet Pea’s own kitties, but the tiny kitty really thrived having a surrogate mama. Sweet Pea was amazingly loving and caring towards her adopted kitty.
The rescue group hope to work to rehabilitate Bob so he could be return back to the wild.
They loved each other so much that their relationship inspired everyone at Sarge’s.
Last Friday, Bob was brought to a wildlife rescue after saying goodbye to his surrogate mom.
