UNITED KINGDOM – Dave the feline without a nose who was trying to find a new forever home has had to be put down after becoming “unexpectedly very seriously ill”.
Dave was taken in by Bath Cats and Dogs Home after his elderly owner was put into a care home.
The cat had removed part of his nose at one point a several years ago because a tumor.
The centre, which tried everything to find him a new sweet home, said his death was “unconnected to his nose”.
It went on to add: “Unfortunately, it was kindest to put him to sleep”.
The home said that Dave had a great problem to find a new human buddy (owner) because people was not pleasant with his face… poor cat…
It started a campaign to find the cat a new permanent home and instantly got a lot of offers.
A spokesman said: “Unluckily our happiness was short because Dave became seriously and unexpectedly ill a several days ago.
“ We hoped for the best for him, but unfortunately tests showed that Dave was suffering from a serious underlying illness – not connected to his nose.”
