A little kitty was left alone by his cat mom but rescued by a young couple who nursed him back to health.
Meet Panda the cat!
Laura Macaluso noticed a little kitty in a field and he was in big need of help. The cute kitten didn’t have the energy to meow but was making very quiet noises desperately trying to get help.
“I think because of the fear and stress, he lost the strength to meow,” Laura told Love Meow.
She investigated better for other kitties and the cat mom who never came back. Panda was less than 2 weeks old at the time. His eyes couldn’t open due to an eye disease. “He was very dehydrated, so I brought him in.”
When Laura’s boyfriend Vincent saw the tiny buddy, he fell immediately in love with him. ” From now he is the new member of our family,” he said to Laura.
As Laura wrapped the tiny kitty in a towel to keep him warm, Panda began suckling on her finger like he would with his cat mom. It was that moment they knew the kitty had adopted them.
“You are my mom now.”
Panda was covered in ticks and bot eggs. Laura cleaned him up and got him on a kitty formula.
“He is still tiny for his age but is getting stronger each day. I think he was the runt due to his size,” Laura said.
Little Panda climbed onto Vincent’s shoulder and ready for a nap. He let out a tiny purr as he nuzzled into the crook of his neck. Once he was settled, his purrs reverberated in Vincent’s ear.
It was the nicest sound.
They gave Panda a cat toy to cuddle with so he is always accompanied by a buddy.
“He thinks it’s his mom.”
It was very hard to recover completely, but the tiny buddy was a real fighter.
“On July 3rd we had a horrible scare. He suffered seizures and at one point was completely limp in my arms. Due to the efforts of my boyfriend and I (who gave him CPR) he recovered,” Laura told Love Meow.
Panda is on the mend.
“He’s the cutest kitty. He hates being alone but sleeps while we’re gone.
“He wakes us up to him playing with our toes in the morning. He sleeps on or next to us every night.”
Panda is always near his humans friends.
When Vincent dozes off for a nap, Panda follows suit.
Panda was abandoned by his cat mom because he was the runt. Now he is 6.5 weeks old, still very little for his age, but he is catching up in size.
He loves his humans and loves cuddling with them whenever he gets a chance.
Panda gives lovely purrs and meows every day. He knows he’s got a loving family for eternity.
