Ever since Sappy was a little kitty, he has been inseparable to a much larger friend at the barn, a horse named Dakota. The tiny cat admirer has grown up following his friend everywhere he goes.
Meet Sappy the cat and Dakota the horse!
“I got the cat as a kitty last May, and we gave the name Sappy… My nephews named him that because he looks happy and sad, but mostly happy,” Denice Kinney, their human mama, told Love Meow.
As the kitten began to grow, Kinney saw a very special relationship forming between the pair.
“He enjoyed laying next to the horse, if the horse laid down, he would lay on him!”
“That feline is in his stall every day during and after feeding time, I always set on that container and here they both come to eat. If I go riding, that kitten follow me everywhere!” Kinney told Love Meow.
They knew by then Sappy had chosen Dakota to be his forever friend.

Dakota the horse is a 15 year quarter horse gelding.
“He is very nice with that cat . They play together all the time.”
“A horse person can really appreciate the kindness of this horse, because even when he gets ahold of the nap of that cat’s neck, he is very gentle,” Kinney told Love Meow.
Dakota slowly moves Sappy like how a mom cat would.
