This tiny grey kitten was born very special. His rescuers were determined to give him the best chance at an amazing life, and now he tells his human every day how happy he is to be loved.
Meet Edward the cat!
Tiny Edward was born at Richmond Animal Care and Control, and when he went into foster care, he met his foster mom, Megan Timberlake.
“Around the 1 pound mark we realized that his head was a little bigger than normal and our vet diagnosed him with hydrocephalus,” Megan told Love Meow. “He had a little issues in the beginning with growing and eating but he got the hang of it.”
“When I noticed him of course I immediately fell in love with him and took him home. I fostered him for a while to make sure everything was going right and we waited until he was stronger and to get sterilized and at that time we realized he had entropion (which causes the eyelashes to fold inwards) so added to his neuter we had to have that medical surgery done also.”
The vets at Prevent A Litter fixed his eyes. The tiny kitty healed up very fast.
“He is awesome and very lovable and doing well with his hydrocephalus. He is a very lucky kitty and is having no issues with it so far. He is now on no medications,” Megan told Love Meow.
Edward is small in size but he makes up for it with his great heart.
“His personality is truly amazing. He is very happy and loving and loves life.”
Edward likes to cuddle and wrap around his human’s head when he sleeps at night.
They gave him all kind of toys that he loves.
Edward seems to have the charm that makes every animal at ease. He is able to bond with everybody at home, furry or human kind.

“He lives with 3 dogs and 3 cats. One of his brother cats is blind (Gulliver who was also adopted by me from RACC) and that is his best buddy,” Megan said.

Despite his medical condition, tiny Edward is thriving!
He loves life so much that he’s proven time and time again that nothing can slow him down.
Even after medical surgery, the little kitty was happy and purring when he was with his human buddies.
Edward is very friendly and can’t get enough of love.
“He wants me to hold him when we are watching TV and also cuddle him and scratch his neck.
“He waits for me to come home at night and gets so excited and purrs a lot when I get home. He comes with me to work sometimes and loves for everyone to hold him and cuddle him,” Megan told Love Meow.
At first, Megan planned to foster Edward until he was big enough for adoption, but the small grey kitten never left.
“He is a real sweetheart and I am so glad I adopted him. He follows me to every room and if he is fast asleep and I get up to go do something, he has to get up and follow me.”
Edward makes sure his human knows how happy he is every day to be loved and healthy.
