The cats had no water or food, and there was no air conditioning on in the home
A woman was charged with animal cruelty after leaving two cute cats in a Rock Hill home when she moved out, according to the local police.
A resident on Shenandoah Circle on Thursday told policemen that the tenants across the street moved out of their home about a week ago after the house had been foreclosed on. The tenants packed up only a several items and left, leaving two helpless cats in the house with no air conditioning or lights.
Police say they noticed a kennel with two bowls but could not see any water or food for the animals.
Officers obtained a search warrant for the home, which was full with furniture, clothing and other household items on the floor, the report states. York County Animal Control seized the two cats.
VanCamp was arrested Tuesday and released on personal recognizance, according to jail records.
