A young man who couldn’t find a date to his high school dance, took his cute cat instead.
Meet Sam and his prom date Ruby the cat!
Ruby the amazing cat is a great part of the family. When Sam Steingard wasn’t able to find a date from school, he knew he had already got the perfect one at his home.
“My brother took our family cat to prom… My mom (Joanne) decided to buy our cat a nice dress and collar so my brother would have someone to take photos with,” Sam’s sister, Caroline Steingard, told Love Meow.
The way Ruby looks at her human in the photo is amazing!
10 years ago, Ruby was found outside a Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant. “So that is the reason for her name” Caroline said.
She is a very friendly cat and loves the neighbors and all people. Ruby grew up with Caroline and Sam and they share a very close bond.
“When I was a bit younger, she walked with me to school and after we arrived she would walk herself home and meet me there after school. She’s an adorable cat.” Caroline told Love Meow.
Ruby loves to be held. She’s a very cool cat and purrs when you pet her.
“She truly loves Sam because he likes to talk to her in a cute baby voice and he will give her treats once in a while.”
Ruby gives Sam a face hug!
“Since being home on summer break Sam did build her a small cat fort out of an old tee-shirt and a cardboard box ,” Caroline told Love Meow.
“Even though she has a $45 heated cat bed, she always choose the homemade fort.”
Caroline and Sam have both graduated from high school since the picture was taken last year.
“Both me and my brother miss her very much when we are away at college!”
